2019 Scholar Awards Celebration
San Francisco, CA – The Northern California Chapter of ARCS Foundation (Achievement Rewards for College Scientists) will honor 77 graduate students in STEM disciplines from six universities in Northern California and two extraordinary past Presidents, Linda Dyer Millard and Jill H. Kramer. At this celebration, Dick and Pam Kramlich will receive the ARCS American Pacesetter Award for their contributions to science, technology, and the arts and Dr. Jennifer Garrison from the Buck Institute for Research on Aging will receive the ARCS Distinguished Alum Award. The Scholar Awards Celebration will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, at The Julia Morgan Ballroom, San Francisco.

The Honorary Event Chairs are Jill H. Kramer and Linda Dyer Millard and the Event Chairs are Deborah Mann and Katy Hope. Janet Reilly will be the emcee and the Nob Hill Gazette is the media sponsor.

Achievement Rewards for College Scientists Foundation (ARCS) advances science and technology in the United States by providing financial awards to academically outstanding graduate students pursuing advanced degrees in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) and medical research.
Since 1958, ARCS has raised over $115 million in support of more than 10,500 scholars. Awards are made on the basis of merit and need without regard to race, gender or religious preference. The Northern California Chapter is one of 15 ARCS chapters nationwide.
Since 1970, the Northern California Chapter has awarded more than $21.6 million to 2,745 scholars attending six northern California universities. For the 2019-2020 academic year, the Chapter allocated over $1 million to 77 scholars.
