As a key deliverable of our Racial & Social Equity Initiative, the members of the California Life Sciences Association (CLSA) will partner with J&J Innovation and various sponsors to deliver and fund a series of two QuickFire Challenge (“QFCs”) focused on the innovation ecosystem in California, which will award grant funding, access to the Johnson & Johnson Innovation – JLABS ecosystem, and mentorship from the CLSA Board for up to six (6) California-based Black, Hispanic, and Native American entrepreneurs; three (3) that represent under-represented innovators and three (3) with solutions for under-served patient populations.

Awareness | Call for Partners

We know that no single organization can solve for the deeply rooted inequities, but believe we all must listen, engage, and ultimately, take action to deliver immediate and sustained change.

CLSA is seeking partnerships with thought leaders in this area, to join us in identifying and recognizing innovators with diverse backgrounds that are contributing to advancing the life science community in California and, ultimately, impacting patients for the better.

CLSA is seeking funding from partners to contribute to the award and marketing of this QFC series.  Contributors can be recognized as a leader in shaping the QFC program, reviewing and selecting applications, and in the final presentation of the awards taking place at CLSA’s annual Pantheon celebration.

QuickFire Challenge | Crowd-Sourced Innovation

The Johnson & Johnson Innovation QuickFire Challenge is a global mechanism to build market awareness around a certain topic, crowdsource innovators to submit ideas, develop a landscape of possible solutions and pick high potential ideas to support with funding, mentorship and resources.

Johnson & Johnson Innovation leverages their fully integrated marketing engine, online application portal, templates, toolkits, network, and data collection tools to amplify the goals of each Challenge, attract the best innovations and ideas, manage a streamlined review process and facilitate the amplification of the QFC partners and awardees. You can learn more about QuickFire Challenges here.
