Ted is a preclinical consultant to foundations and biotech companies. He is currently managing director of Fast Forward LLC, the translational arm of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, overseeing a unique collaborative partnership between the NMSS and the pharmaceutical company EMD Serono to identify, fund, and manage early discovery and development projects in academia and biotechs. He has also consulted for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation on project management, with SRI International on innovation training programs, and with the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation on translational programs. He has over 20 years of experience leading Bay Area preclinical development teams in autoimmunity, infectious disease, and cancer projects, primarily in biologics drug candidates. In addition to leading projects to IND and working with venture philanthropies, he has experience in business development and project management. A cellular immunologist by training, Ted received his Ph.D. in cell biology at The Johns Hopkins University and postdoctoral training at Stanford University.
