CLSI Kicks Off the first CLSI Startup Buzz Networking at Bonneville Labs
CLSI is taking its successful FAST and Fellows quarterly networking events out to the startup community, while also providing an opportunity to hear from some of the region’s most compelling life science startups. The new CLSI Startup Buzz Networking events will kick off an evening of conversation, food and beverage with a brief (2-3 minute) presentation of hot-off-the-bench data from a selected entrepreneur. A new startup will be featured each quarter.
Bonneville Labs will host a short introduction to CLSI’s FAST Advisory program for entrepreneurs who are interested in learning about the free (no fee, no equity stake, Fellow membership) business advisory program for life science startups from 4:30 – 5:00 pm on Tuesday, July 9 at its Berkeley incubator. This will be followed by the first CLSI Startup Buzz Networking event, from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, which will feature Richard Yu, CEO and Co-founder of Abalone Bio and a graduate of the Spring 2018 FAST program.
“The CLSI Startup Buzz Networking events are modeled on a very successful format from my days as a grad student and post-doc,” stated Julie Harness, CLSI’s Director of Innovation Services. “They began with a researcher or founder sharing something new from the bench that had not yet been made public. They were fascinating and fun, a ‘never-miss’ event, and a great lead into lively discussions. We thought we’d create that same kind of buzz excitement in kicking off CLSI’s quarterly networking events immersed in the startup community.”
