Flad steps up to the challenge
BayBio member Flad Architects volunteered staff time to assist two teachers compete for a $20,000 science lab makeover. The teachers found assistance through Bio-Community.org, BayBio’s web platform that connects students and teachers with financial and volunteer assistance.
The two teachers were competing for the National Science Teachers Association’s Shell Science Lab Challenge and sought someone to review the application. Flad Architects found the teachers through Bio-Community.org and provided mentors to the teachers.
Flad Architect’s expertise in teaching and research laboratory design and writing and reviewing NIH Construction grant applications is of significant value to the competition. We won’t know the results, but we’ll keep you posted.
