Stephen Cary, PhD
Stephen Cary, Ph.D. is a co-inventor of the H-NOX technology and company co-founder. As the President and CEO of Omniox, he leads a team of 20 scientists and drug development professionals with the goal of addressing diseases of severe hypoxia, including cancers and stroke. He has raised over $10 million in equity financings and is the Principal Investigator on a Wellcome Trust Translation Award and multiple Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grants, totaling over $13.8M since 2009. Prior to Omniox, Stephen worked in market strategy and commercial development at Genentech, and was the winner of multiple Excellence Awards for project leadership. Stephen has authored several peer reviewed scientific publications and is an inventor on multiple patents. Stephen obtained is Bachelor of Science degree from Yale University and a PhD in Biological Chemistry from the University of Michigan with Michael Marletta. He was a post-doctoral fellow in the Division of Immunology at Genentech, in the laboratory of Andy Chan.
