Vera Imper

Vera received her Ph.D. in Bioinorganic Chemistry from the University of Zagreb, Croatia in 1993. She joined was the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry at the University of Zagreb as an Assistant Professor after which she became a Visiting Scientist at Syntex, Palo Alto. After the acquisition of Syntex by Roche, she became Manager of Strategic Marketing and Business Development at Roche Bioscience. She then joined Biometric Imaging in 1997 as Director of Business Development.

After the acquisition of Biometric Imaging by BD in 1999, she became Vice President of Business Development for the worldwide BD Biosciences business as a part of BD Life Science Segment. In this role, she was responsible for in- and out-licensing, strategic alliances and research collaborations with a focus on research and clinical diagnostics for cell-based assays, reagents and platforms. She was also responsible for identifying and evaluating acquisition targets. Vera was a member of Global Leadership Team for BDB.

In 2018, Vera joined Roche Molecular Solutions as Vice President and Head of Business Development. In this role, Vera is leading the team that examines external partnership opportunities and strategic business relationships for the Molecular, Tissue and Sequencing segments. She also handles the seamless implementation of collaborations, alliances and acquisitions across the Roche Molecular Systems portfolio.Vera also serves as an Advisor and Board member for the Healthcare Business Women’s Association San Francisco chapter since 2015.
